Over the weekend Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt finally confirmed rumors that had been circulating for months -- that their marriage was in trouble. The couple admitted they are separated in a joint statement which read, "We would like to announce that after seven years together we have decided to formally separate. This decision is the result of much thoughtful consideration. We happily remain committed and caring friends with great love and admiration for one another. We ask in advance for your kindness and sensitivity."

The couple married for over four years aparently wanted different things. Friends say Pitt wanted to start a family, but Aniston is eager to start a movie career after 10 years on the sitcom friends. There are also reports that Pitt wanted his Mr. & Mrs. Smith co-star Angelina Jolie. Some sources even claim that Aniston overheard Pitt and Jolie having phone sex. It's an affair that both Pitt and Jolie have denied, although during a break in filming to promote his movie Troy, Pitt made this odd statement about marriage, "It's not like it's set in stone, that it has to be the perfect marriage. Don't put all those expectations on it. Free yourself of those. Keep growing." Can I use that explaination if I'm ever caught cheating?
